FAQs
The answers to your questions
How is a branding shoot different from a regular headshot session?
A headshot gives you one polished image of your face, useful, but limited. A branding shoot tells the full story of your business. It captures you in your environment, working in your element, and expressing your personality, producing a library of images that work across your website, social media, email marketing, and beyond. It's the difference between a single tool and an entire toolkit.
I'm not photogenic - will I still get good results?
This is one of the most common concerns, and almost universally unfounded. Looking great in branding photos isn't about your features. It's about preparation, direction, and environment. A skilled branding photographer guides you through the session so you never have to figure out what to do with your hands or where to look. Most clients are surprised by how natural and like themselves they look in the final images.
How do I know what to wear, where to shoot, and what to bring?
This is exactly what the planning process is for. Before your shoot, think about your brand colours, your ideal client, your business personality, and the story you want your images to tell, so that nothing on the day is left to chance. The best branding shoots are highly intentional, not improvised. Once you’re booked in for your session, I’ll also send you a full guide detailing what to expect before, during and after your photoshoot.
How often do I need to update my branding photos?
Most business owners find that a good branding shoot serves them well for one to two years, sometimes longer, depending on how much their business, offering, or personal style evolves. The bigger risk isn't updating too often; it's waiting too long and continuing to use images that no longer reflect who you are or the clients you're trying to attract.
Is it worth the investment if I'm still in the early stages of my business?
Arguably, this is when it matters most. Early-stage businesses are still building trust with a cold audience, people who have never heard of you and have no referral to lean on. Your imagery may be the only thing standing between a stranger and their decision to enquire. Starting with strong visual branding means you begin building credibility from day one, rather than playing catch-up later.
